Needle On

How do you overcome your fears? By making them familiar. I am no longer afraid of sewing but I am frustrated at the time it takes to get good.

I have been taking night classes, sewing at the factory on my lunch break, reading books at night and watching instructional videos on the weekends.

I wish I could wake up with the skill and understanding, but that is not the way the world works. We earn our talent through our commitments to cultivate with hours.

I love to start but struggle to finish. I began learning and then did not continue.

Many books I am still reading but it takes practice to earn the familiarity with your hands.

Even made my own pattern and then into a dress.

Books help to see the order, but I must spend the time behind the needle.
