Speaking with my mom about the Ireland run left me giggling to myself. She couldn’t understand why I would want to do such a thing. Her reply, ‘I believe you can do it. I will be praying for you’. My reply, ‘People always talk about their dreams. I prefer to live them. I’ve had a strong will every since I was young. Then I was too afraid to see what I could do. Now I decide why not, why not explore my potential’?
Five years ago my little sister Juliana wanted desperately to have a dog. We all told her to forget it, she wan’t stable enough. Still in school and uncertain of her future plans, she ignored all of our opinions. She drove through a storm to a farm and collected her pup. His name was Tucker then. Arriving to the house with the little guy before rushing off to campus, she left me to care for the little one. Fast forward Julie and Milo (his name given after the change in ownership) are living in California.
Through all the struggles experienced she continued to love her little pup taking him everywhere. This love of Milo has grown into a business venture JESMade. Rather silly to think but Julie has become a fashion designer for dogs. Seeing this journey unfolding through the ups and downs I am so happy for two reasons: (1) that Julie has stayed true to her vision (2) that she has created a business rooted in love. Crazy ideas are the starting point of innovation, why because they are bold enough to do something that others won’t.

She will forever be my baby sister. Time stands still for sisters. Milo in her arms 🙂
