Captain Stube

Rather strange to make the comparison but it seems that the type of focus required for dream pursuits is similar to captains and athletes. The most important element in the attack is to stay calm and focused. To move toward the target yet still resilient to maneuver the blows and competition. Its a head game like playing golf, its your nerves that make or break the precision in your swing. I received an email from a colleague at the University of Baltimore, ‘you are the feature on the main page’.

I thought to say, ‘oh wow that’s amazing’, as if it were a surprise. It was no surprise, after many emails and meetings I had pushed on to create a fashion business presence at the University for a bigger plan. What people can’t see in the world of fashion and theater is what happens behind the curtain. We are running around like chickens getting everything ready, not enough time, money or people…but somehow we pull it off for every show.

They say that in dance if you are good you pull off the movements effortlessly. I am far from that place. In the video I noticed a mark under my eye where I rubbed the make-up and I used phrases that were repetitious, but with each bow I start again. Learning from successes and also failures. Life is shaping and molding us like a work of art, so that we are closer to the truest form of our nature. We must be patient and accept the storms, while also taking time to bask in the sun.
