All my life I have said ‘I would love to play the piano‘. I never took up an instrument and focused on business studies and fashion. More recently I have questioned whether it was too late for me to learn to play at 31 years old.
Today I ignored the doubts and sat at the keyboard. My fingers felt awkward for a while. After about an hour of gliding across the board my anxieties faded as I enjoyed the sounds that fluttered around the room.
I wonder how many talented individuals go through life without realizing their special gifts. I am not concentrated on becoming a concert pianist, but more importantly I love the feeling that making music creates.

Both my grandparents were classically trained musicians that met at the conservatory. In the 60’s they moved to Indonesia as missionaries.
I never met my grandmother as she died of MS before I was born. But through the music I feel that I am able to get to know her. She was a talented pianist and from what I hear a wonderful mother.
