My older sister a nurse in the US tells me ‘you need to get on anxiety meds‘. She reminds me ‘Stace you have always had anxiety now you are having panic attacks‘.
I stubbornly refuse and argue that I need to get down to the root cause and when my breathing normalises then I will have discovered the solution. Meds will only mask the symptoms of intangible struggles.
I am still carrying on with my dreams, but am spending more time listening to myself and my body. The first step toward healing is awareness.
