After a mini yoga practice this morning, my ambitious self pushed me to go for a run. I haven’t been for a run since my injury. My foot is still not 100% but that nagging voice wouldn’t allow me to start the work day. I put a song on to get the momentum up, the lyrics blasting from my iphone as I got dressed ‘Feeling my way through the darkness, guiding by a beating heart, I can’t tell where the journey will end , but I know where to start’.
I proceeded to dance around the room as if at a rave party on the beach. Feeling the excitement of the dream, as I left the worries behind. This is not a time to get bogged down by grey skies, cold weather and rain. This is a time to get up, get moving and make things happen. The world is what we make of it!
Sometimes a bit of perspective is as simple as going for a run when we would rather stay in can make all the difference. The path to your dreams becoming reality is created by stringing together these small but tough choices. So what! My foot is injured, I may have to start slow but the most important of all actions is to begin. ‘Wish I could stay forever this young, not afraid to close my eyes, life’s a game made for everyone and love is the prize…so wake up’!
Here’s the song for a bit of motivation for you!
