Embracing Struggles

This morning I finally got up the courage to get back on my yoga mat. Due to my foot injury I wasn’t able to walk or move the arch of my foot for over 1 month. As a result I struggled through a very basic 5 minute yoga practice.

Before my accident I was pretty advanced in my physical practice so to see myself struggling with a basic downward dog left me slightly discouraged. I refused to give in!

I sat on my mat massaging around the scab that still had not fully healed and I resumed stretching my foot painfully.

Sometimes such events seem so detrimental. For me I fell behind with my collection, lost my mind a bit and missed out on some great outdoor activities.

But what I will remember most will be learning how to ask for help, while being more patient with myself. We must embrace the struggle and pain that is how we grow!
