Light Seeker

Standing in the shower careful not to wet my injured foot, I began the locker room self pep talk. ‘Ok Stac you have a choice to make, you can choose to be frustrated about your foot or you can fight your way back to positivity. The outcome of the day is dependent on your attitude.’

Hopping the 200 meters to the Batik class was a struggle. I am too impatient to use the crutch so I carry it along as I repeat to myself ‘it will test your will and commitment to the dream’. I arrived drenched in sweat but proud that I chose to seek out the light instead of dwelling in misery.

After 8 hours of painting I realized a new found passion of mine. It was one of the most amazing days in a long time. To think I would have missed out had I allowed the negativity to get the best of me. Life is too short and too beautiful for all that nonsense. Sometimes we just need to get out of our heads and back into the moment.
